3D Tutorial 16: How to Instantly Design a Throated Worm Drive in Blender 2.8

Introduction

Our original throated (a.k.a. globoid) worm calculator works well but it has a major drawback: it involves too many copy-and-paste operations -- 12 formulas per worm need to be transferred from the calculator to Blender. By contrast, our newest Instant Throated Worm Calculator generates a single Python script which builds the entire worm model instantly, with only one copy-and-paste operation per worm.

The following tutorial explains how to use the Instant Throated Worm Calculator with Blender 2.8+ to build the throated worm and matching wheel based on user-specified dimensions. The calclator can be used with older versions of Blender as well.
